Students in the middle and high school are not allowed to use their phones without teacher approval. Most students carry them on them at all times, they do not need to be stored.

Happy Gringo, booking.com, getyourguide, trivago, airbnb all work well in Quito as well as uber, didi and indriver. We've used them all for outings.

Class sizes range from 9 to 22 in early years and primary. Each class has a local TA who speaks English and Russian. Some of them speak Kazakh as well.The youngest classes (PreK3 and PreK4) have multiple TAs but these can be removed and sent to other places in the school. One was used long-term as a one-to-one for a student with special needs in elementary school.

In secondary, the school has been using ManageBac, and teachers were required to complete the entire unit plan details in MB. The school also had GoogleClassroom, and there were unclear expectations as to which should be used as the LMS. There was no direct link between ManageBac and the school's SMS, grade traansfers at term were by hand. The school encouraged using AI to generate comments.

It all depends on who you are and what you need. For those with small kids being a walk of 5-10 minutes away from home works well. Older kids might not enjoy as much since unless their friends come on campus to socialize the traffic makes everything harder.

Some people find the crowds unbearable, There are a LOT of people in Bangkok and for certain celebrations, Songhkran, Pride, Loy Khratong etc a lot of them tend to gather in the same places. There are, if you believe Reddit, a lot of scams going on but, in 20 odd years I have never fallen for one, so you need to be aware and make your own mind up.
